Blacksburg and Virginia Tech
We're so excited to welcome you to beautiful Blacksburg and to Virginia Tech. In order to get you excited about our campus and town we have some information HERE to prepare you for your visit, including hotels and places to eat.
The Eta Beta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi began the Virginia Tech colony in November 1974. On April 3rd, 1976, representatives from the Zeta Psi chapter at Virginia State College installed our colony as the Eta Beta chapter. Since its founding, the Eta Beta chapter has inducted over 300 members and provided countless service hours to the bands of Virginia Tech. Brothers have served in various leadership positions including multiple Drum Majors and Executive Officers for The Marching Virginians. The chapter currently has 34 active members across six colleges and two marching bands. We would love to get in contact with other chapters to talk and hang out before districts. If you would like to set up a Skype session with the chapter to meet us, please reach out to our secretary, Daniel Nette at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Zeta Omicron Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma began as the little sisters of the Eta Beta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. In the spring of 1977, the brothers felt that it was time a similar organization was established for the women of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VPI & SU) bands. They had two suggestions: the bands women could colonize their own chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, or the brothers could have a group of little sisters who might someday wish to form a Tau Beta Sigma colony. With the small number of women interested at the time, the second choice was more feasible. In the spring of 1977, they initiated the Alpha pledge class of Little Sisters. The Beta pledge class was initiated in the fall of 1977, followed by the Gamma pledge class of spring 1978.
